Danish Maritime Group Eyes Expansion Into Alternative Fuel Systems
Denmark-based G&O Maritime Group has signed an agreement to acquire Eltronic FuelTech, a specialist in marine fuel supply systems, according to Ship & Bunker. The two companies announced the deal in a joint press release, with the transaction expected to be formally completed before the end of the first quarter of 2026.
Strengthening the Alternative Fuels Portfolio
According to Ship & Bunker, the acquisition will add Eltronic FuelTech’s expertise directly into G&O Maritime Group’s growing portfolio of niche maritime suppliers. Eltronic FuelTech designs and manufactures fuel supply systems that allow vessels to run on alternative marine fuels, including methanol and ammonia — two fuels increasingly central to the shipping industry’s decarbonisation efforts.
The report notes that the new ownership structure is intended to support further growth and strengthen collaboration across G&O’s propulsion and aftermarket businesses.
A Bigger, More Global Group
Following the close of the deal, G&O Maritime Group will record an annual turnover exceeding DKK 1.1 billion and employ more than 700 people, the majority of whom are based in Denmark, as reported by Ship & Bunker. The group also maintains offices and production facilities in Dubai, China, and South Korea.
The acquisition signals G&O Maritime Group’s continued push to deepen its capabilities in next-generation marine fuel technologies as demand for alternative fuel-compatible systems grows across the global fleet.
