Engineering firm ABB and wind propulsion specialist Econowind have combined weather routing technology with wind-assisted propulsion systems to help vessel operators reduce bunker fuel consumption, according to Ship & Bunker.
According to Ship & Bunker, ABB confirmed on its website that its routing technology is now working alongside Econowind’s VentoFoil wind propulsion system to make better use of favourable wind conditions during voyages.
How the Technology Works
