Bunker Holding, described as the world’s largest marine fuel seller by volume, has announced a leadership reshuffle affecting two of its three major trading brands, according to Ship & Bunker.
New Brand Heads Appointed
According to Ship & Bunker, Thomas Lee, who has served as head of the Asia-Pacific region at KPI OceanConnect since 2023, will become the brand’s new head. Lee previously held the role of head of global accounts for the APAC region at the company.
Dorthe Bendtsen, who has led KPI OceanConnect since November 2024—first as interim chief executive and then permanently from May 2025—moves into a newly created position as Group Sales Operations Director. In this role, she will report to group chief commercial officer Anders Grønborg and focus on sales team structure and processes, Ship & Bunker reports.
At Glander International Bunkering, Michael Cammarata takes over as brand head. Cammarata has been with the firm since 1988 and most recently served as managing director of its Florida office, according to the report.
Carsten Ladekjær, Glander International Bunkering’s long-serving chief executive and a 30-year veteran of the group, is moving to the newly established Bunker Holding Academy. Ship & Bunker describes this as a new initiative representing a significant investment in developing talent and leaders within the industry.
Additional Organizational Changes
Mikkel Søholm Vestergaard, who joined Bunker Holding from Dan-Bunkering last November as director of sales and operational development, has been named group digital sales director, overseeing the company’s digital sales platforms, per Ship & Bunker.
There is no leadership change at Dan-Bunkering, where Claus Bulch Klausen continues as head of the brand, the report states.
Ship & Bunker quotes group chief executive Peder Møller, who took over from Keld Demant last October, saying: “Our customers operate in an increasingly complex and fast-moving market, and their needs continue to evolve. We want to make sure our commercial organisation is set up to respond with the right expertise, market knowledge and solutions, wherever our customers operate.”
According to the report, Bunker Holding stated the changes aim to strengthen commercial capabilities, empower frontline staff, and build stronger brands, following what the company described as a strong financial year and continued execution of its “Fueling the Future” strategy. Ship & Bunker notes this marks the second such reshuffle under the current executive team, following changes in November 2024 that saw Grønborg move from KPI OceanConnect to the group chief commercial officer role and Møller step into executive management.
Ship & Bunker reports that Bunker Holding sold approximately 24 million mt of bunkers in 2025 and operates in 33 countries through 56 offices.
Does This Matter to You?
Leadership changes at major bunker trading brands can influence how customer relationships, pricing strategies, and regional market coverage evolve over time. Given Bunker Holding’s scale as the largest marine fuel seller by volume, shifts in commercial leadership at KPI OceanConnect and Glander International Bunkering may affect how these brands engage with vessel operators, charterers, and bunker buyers going forward.
The source material does not detail specific operational changes expected from this reshuffle beyond the stated goals of strengthening commercial capabilities and market responsiveness.
