Taiwan’s state-owned energy company CPC Corporation has announced plans to introduce marine biofuel bunkering services at the Port of Kaohsiung, according to Ship & Bunker.
According to Ship & Bunker, CPC expects to begin supplying B24 LSMF-180 (0.5%) — a blended biofuel product often referred to as B24-VLSFO — to ships calling at Kaohsiung starting in October 2026. The announcement was made directly by CPC Corporation, which described the move as part of efforts to align with global maritime net-zero greenhouse gas emissions targets as well as Taiwan’s own Net-Zero Transition policy.

In its statement, cited by Ship & Bunker, CPC Corporation said: “CPC Corporation, Taiwan, is pleased to announce that we will supply marine biofuel at Kaohsiung ports to align with global maritime net-zero greenhouse gas emissions targets and Taiwan’s Net-Zero Transition policy.” The company added that it expects “to provide B24 LSMF-180 (0.5%) bunkering services starting in October 2026.”
According to Ship & Bunker, CPC framed the new offering as giving vessels calling at Kaohsiung access to a lower-carbon fuel option as the wider shipping sector continues working toward emissions reduction targets.
Existing Bunkering Footprint
Ship & Bunker also reports that CPC Corporation already supplies conventional bunker fuels at several Taiwanese ports, including Kaohsiung, Taichung, Keelung, and Suao/Hualien. The addition of B24-VLSFO would mark an expansion of the company’s fuel offering at Kaohsiung specifically, rather than a new port entry.
